In 1999 I graduated from the Department of Primary Education at the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki and in 2001 I completed my postgraduate studies in the Department of Linguistics & Modern English Language at Lancaster University (U.K.). In 2011 I obtained my PhD Degree from King’s College London and in 2021 I submitted my postdoctoral research in the Department of Pedagogy of the School of Philosophy and Education in the Faculty of Philosophy at the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki.

I have worked as a teacher in primary education for 18 years, 12 of which in Intercultural Schools for Roma children in Menemeni-Thessaloniki and I have been an adjunct lecturer in language teaching courses in the Department of Early Childhood Education at the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki (2015-2019) and in the Department of Early Childhood Education & Care at the International Hellenic University (2019-2021).

My research interests include three interrelated dimensions: (a) the epistemological analysis of the broader language teaching approaches and methods, (b) the analysis of the official language teaching standards in preschool and primary education and (c) the analysis of school literacy practices at the above educational stages.
