Kakana Domna - Mika

Domna Mika Kakana is a Professor in Theory of Preschool Education, at the Department of Preschool Education of the University of Thessaly in Greece. She manages the Laboratory of “Theoretical and Applied Pedagogy” at the Faculty of Humanities, at the Department of Preschool Education, University of Thessaly. Also she was President at the aforementioned department and director of the Postgraduate Programme on the subject: "Pedagogic Toys and Pedagogic Equipment for Children's Initial Years again at the same Department. She participated as a leader or as a researcher in many European research programmes in the field of Education and specifically in designing new educational environments. She has over 80 publications in Greek and English, 6 books, (2 as an editor) and over 90 oral presentations in international, European and Greek conferences. Her recent research interests focus on the development of contemporary environments of teaching and learning in preschool education, such as collaborative environments, new didactic approaches, and pre-service educational training.
