Forming preferences through peripheral cues

The role of two peripheral cues, namely familiarity and order, was investigated with two experimental studies. Both peripheral cues, especially familiarity, has been found to have an impact on preferences. The findings of these studies are conceptually integrated into theoretical approaches on impression formation and evaluation.
